This gorgeous and surreal animation is the fourth in the Bendito Machine series.
Bendito Machine IV – Fuel the Machines, by Jossie Malis
Now Jossie is running a Kickstarter campaign to continue the series and make a computer game.
This story begins six years ago when I, tired from all the global cretinism, decided to create a universal fable about human conflicts and enigmatic mystifying eyes that watch everything. After some months devoted to materializing this idea, the short film Bendito Machine premiered at festivals all over the world, receiving support that exceeded all my expectations. What I originally envisioned as a therapy to channel all that accumulated displeasure, turned out to be (thanks to the friendly welcome of the Internet world) the seed of an uncommon animation series which has occupied quite a sizeable part of my last six years.

Ultimate Muscle Roller Legend is the first video in this, um, genre that I remember seeing. It blew my mind.
Worth watching large. I love the vehicle design in this. The universe is appealing too. Continue reading

Ratatouille meets The Matrix
“One Rat Short” is a work of love Directed by Alex Weil and created by Charlex Films. From the start we decided not to use anthropomorphic animation. We decided it would take place in two worlds: one so gritty, grimy and dark that the viewer needs to peer into the screen in order to make out the images and the other a sterile white world so brightly lit that you feel the need to turn your head away from the screen. One of the techniques we used was to give a lot of the camera work a hand-held feel and to keep it a little behind the action so that the scenes didn’t seem staged. Lastly and most importantly we kept the story simple and tried to give it heart. The film picked up honors at numerous film festivals, including Best of Show at the Siggraph Computer Animation Festival.

The first chapter of the Music Box Chronicles is a glimpse into the timeless life of Twinklebox, a music box caught in an infinite world, set to his own melody.
Twinklebox is a short film about the mechanics and music of time. The third film from Luniere brings yet another lost toy back to life in an animation that plays with scale, sound, and timelessness. The Music Box Chronicles is an ongoing collaboration into the parallel development of image and sound, inspired by a ‘Write Your Own Melody’ Music Box.
